How To Lose Weight Without Exercise – Can It Be Done?
Most of us want to lose weight, but most of us would prefer it if that is achieved without having to starve ourselves or go to the gym. Deep down inside, we know that this isn’t really possible. However, there are actually some things you can do that allow for painless weight loss. Of course, it is unlikely that you will see massive or fast results with these techniques, but they do work.
1 – Have Sex
Sex is one of the best, and most would say the most fun, ways of losing weight without having to diet or exercise. It is a fantastic cardiovascular workout and it also helps to release happy hormones in your brain, which means you end up with a better self-image, which, in turn, can stop you from comfort eating. Clearly, it is time to start spending more time in the bedroom.

Not just that, if you are able to engage in different positions, you will be using different muscle groups as well. As such, sex is a true whole body workout. And we can all agree that it is a lot more fun than pumping iron in a gym.
2 – Focus on Your Food
How often do you eat on the go? Most of us eat while working or watching television. This is because we lead such busy lifestyles and we cannot be blamed for it. However, by not focusing on our food, we also don’t pay attention to our receptors. We often don’t realize that we are full and continue eating, simply because there is still food available. Eating is something that should be a whole body experience. It takes just 15 minutes to eat something, so take your time with it and you will notice that you will start losing weight as well.

Indeed, there have been numerous studies to demonstrate that those who multitask while eating, eat significantly more. Not just that, they also feel hungry again sooner and this means that they are more likely to eat sugary foods and other things out of the snack machine at work or in school.
3 – Watch What You Drink
Nutritional experts have warned people about the dangers of liquid sugars.

These drinks are full of sugars and these can add as much as 500 calories to your regular daily intake. Water is, of course, the best option. However, if you don’t like to drink plain water, you could opt for diet drinks and unsweetened teas. Consider adding a few ice cubes and a slice of lemon or lime to a glass of water to make it more interesting. Also, make sure you have a glass of red wine every night. This is good for the body and good for the soul.
4 – Don’t Stay on Cruise Control
Cruise control is not only present in our vehicles, it is present in our lives as well. We have become increasingly lazy and call it “convenient” when we don’t have to make any movements to achieve something. For instance, our telephones are portable, our televisions use remote controls, our lights switch on by clapping, we pay for fuel at the pump and so on. Our lives are on cruise control and there are plenty of things you can do to switch that off again and burn calories through normal movements.

There are lots of fun ways to do this as well. Why not blast your favorite song while you are hoovering and dance along with it? Or how about trying to iron on one leg? You can also wash the windows without using steps, which is a great Pilates workout. Lots of things are possible when you set your mind to it.
5 – Create a Food Diary
It has been said that around half the food we eat a day is food we didn’t even realize we had. We eat out of comfort, convenience or simply because it’s there. If, however, we keep a food diary, we become far more aware of what we actually eat.

Once you have created a log, you can easily see what you can cut out from your diet and what you could perhaps replace with healthier options. Perhaps you hadn’t realized that you munch on half a packet of biscuits a day, which you could easily lower by simply putting two biscuits in a container and taking those with you. After all, nobody truly needs biscuits for their survival, so you are only eating them because they are there.
6 – Go for Acupuncture and Herbs
Finally, you could take a look at esoterically-minded methods and use things such as acupuncture and herbs to help you on your weight loss journey. One of the great things about doing this is that it is also classed as “green.” You are not damaging the environment or creating a huge carbon footprint. Plus, although much of it is unproven, it hasn’t been proven not to work either. Of course, there is also a lot of truth in these types of methods. It is known that it helps the liver function better, which means that your body is better able to rid itself of various toxins. This, in turn, could help you to lose weight.
As you can see, you don’t have to exercise in order to lose weight. Changing your diet is generally the best way, but also the hardest. You must also remember that if you don’t workout, you could end up with a poorly shaped body.
